AI is changing the nature and organization of work. Tasks are shifting, job roles are evolving, and new ways of working and learning are emerging. This is also changing the way people build knowledge, skills, and professional experience. The traditional progression from student to junior to senior is under pressure. At the same time, new opportunities are emerging to help people and organizations work more productively, creatively, and inclusively with AI.
AI Skills in the Workplace and Education
To capitalize on the opportunities offered by AI, we must look beyond the technology itself—to the future of work and learning. What knowledge and skills will be needed? How do we align educational curricula with the job market? How do people develop professional judgment and expertise as AI takes over more and more tasks? And how do we ensure that AI contributes to dignified, inclusive, and future-proof work?
Vision
AIC4NL’s “Talent, Knowledge, and Skills” initiative brings together the business community, government, research institutions, educational institutions, and civil society organizations to address the future of work and learning. We want the Netherlands to be well-prepared for a labor market in which humans and AI increasingly collaborate. That is why we integrate knowledge development, learning, and practical application. We accelerate AI adoption, strengthen the development of AI talent, and ensure that knowledge and skills find their way into the workplace.
In this way, we are working toward an inclusive, learning, and future-proof labor market, where people and organizations can use AI responsibly and effectively, and where there is still room for human expertise, autonomy, and professional judgment. Our ambition is to attract, develop, and retain AI talent for the Netherlands across all sectors.
“We bring together knowledge, learning, and practical experience so that people and organizations can use AI responsibly and effectively and are prepared for the future of work.”
Marloes Roelands, Practice Leader for Talent, Knowledge, and Skills.
