AiNed with AI

Funding for small and medium-sized businesses that collaborate to develop AI solutions

Would you like to work with other SME entrepreneurs to innovate a product, production process, or service using AI? The AiNed MIT AI Program funds collaborative R&D projects in which SMEs work together to develop an AI solution.

The Role of AI in Small and Medium-Sized Businesses

The economy and society are rapidly becoming digitized. Many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) lack the knowledge needed to take advantage of these opportunities. Studies show that SMEs face significant challenges in implementing AI. The MIT AI Program helps develop concrete AI applications that strengthen the market position of SMEs.

About the MIT AI Program

MIT stands for SME Innovation Stimulation for Regions and Top Sectors. Within this program, there is a separate call for proposals for R&D collaboration projects focused on AI: MIT AI. You can apply for a grant for either a small or a large collaborative project; the general terms and conditions are the same as the generic MIT terms and conditions for R&D collaborative projects. For MIT AI, only the national application portal of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) applies. This call for proposals is part of the AiNed program of the National Growth Fund.

A project is eligible if it falls within the key technology of Artificial Intelligence. This means that the project contributes to the development and deployment of generative AI and/or machine learning, incorporates an approach that prioritizes reliable and human-centered AI, and offers a demonstrably new solution for one or more areas of focus of the AI Coalition for the Netherlands (AIC4NL).
