Throughout the month of June, nearly 50 activities took place in honor of the Month of AI in Education (MVAI). These included lectures, webinars, workshops, as well as a hackathon organized by our Education Working Group. Among other things, this extensive program brought together a lot of education professionals and EdTech experts to look for ways to improve education.
Aftermovie Hackathon AI
Our Education Working Group organized a multi-day hackathon developing AI solutions that improve or personalize education. Eight teams signed up and competed for first place.
The participating teams were:
- Graafschap College
- Aventus
- ROC van Twente
- Royal Auris Group
- The Stormink - Etty Hillesum Lyceum
- Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences
- HZ University of Applied Sciences
- Windesheim
The Royal Auris Group walked away with the win, developing "Fabula" with students from the University of Twente and Delft University of Technology. This innovative platform provides an educational content creator for vocabulary training with visual support, which is in demand in special primary education.
Blog Hackathon AI
Prior to the hackathon, an inspiration session was given by author, lecturer and educator Barend Last. He looked back at the meeting in his blog. Read that one here.
