Building European AI leadership together
AIC4NL participation in the AI Data Robotics Forum in Norway
The annual AI, Data, Robotics Forum, organized by the AI Data and Robotics Association (Adra), took place in Stavanger on Sept. 23-24, 2025. The event brought together policy makers, researchers, companies and networks from across Europe to work towards one common ambition: a strong, innovative and responsible European AI ecosystem. AIC4NL attended as a partner and spoke with the EU AI Office. Stavanger thus formed not only a meeting place for knowledge exchange and cooperation, but also a moment to make the Dutch voice heard in Europe.
A stronger European AI ecosystem
Stefan Leijnen, Lead International at AIC4NL, sits on Adra's Board of Directors on behalf of the Netherlands. Adra's mission is to strengthen Europe's AI, data and robotics ecosystems, accelerate innovation, develop new markets and ensure that European values, such as transparency, security and human rights, remain firmly embedded in technological advances. Adra works closely with the European Commission in this endeavor.
AIC4NL pulls together in Europe with Adra, European working groups and consortia, so that Dutch priorities and knowledge positions are aligned with European investment lines and programs. In this way, we help build a Europe in which AI is not only developed, but also applied for social and economic impact.
Connection between Europe and the Netherlands
The meeting in Stavanger showed how valuable this cooperation is at a time when Europe is changing. Our involvement in these European networks ensures that the lines between European developments and Dutch initiatives remain short. With the AI Continent Action Plan and the resulting Apply AI strategy, Europe is investing in a strong AI position, and the Netherlands can benefit from this.
