AiNed congratulates those selected for their successful AiNed Innovation Lab and Learning Community proposals. From more than 100 proposals submitted, 33 qualified proposals were reviewed, of which four Innovation Labs and five Learning Communities have now been selected.

The Innovation Labs focus on developing AI solutions for business and public organizations, especially for SMEs, start-ups and scale-ups. The Learning Communities increase the AI knowledge and skills of employees and students through hands-on cases and learning modules in which companies and knowledge institutions collaborate.

The selected projects will contribute to strengthening the Dutch innovative strength and the actual application of AI in business and society, specifically in the Health & Care, Mobility, Transport & Logistics, Technical Industry and Energy & Sustainability sectors.

The following projects have been selected:

Sector Health & Care

The 'PROSPER InnovationLab', led by Radboud UMC, Radboud University and Maastricht University Medical Center (MUMC+), is developing a platform for secure data exchange between hospitals, using AI to improve communication between patient and caregiver using visual anatomical representations. The Learning Community "Coding for Cure and Care (C3)," led by the Hanze University Foundation, focuses on the use of AI in the patient's care journey, from prevention to treatment and aftercare. 'Care for AI Readiness Acquiring Insights (CARAI)', led by Zuyd University of Applied Sciences and Open University, prepares healthcare professionals for the increasing use of AI, with a focus on reducing administrative burden.

Sector Mobility, Transport & Logistics

The Innovation Lab 'Large Language Models for Logistic Management (LLM4LM)', driven by TNO and Be-Informed, is developing AI solutions to support small and medium-sized companies in overcoming complex regulatory and language barriers in international trade and logistics. The Learning Community 'AI Learning Initiative for Multi-modal Traffic and Transportation (AIM-TT)', led by TU Delft, is exploring how AI can contribute to improved road safety, more efficient public transport and managing congestion in cities.

Sector Technical Industry

The Maritime AI InnovationLab, led by MARIN, is developing AI applications for designing and building future ships and streamlining shipping operations. Two Learning Communities focus on the implementation of AI in the technical industry. The project 'MKB and MBO verzilveren de kracht van AI', led by Kennispact MBO Brabant, focuses on preventing failures and improving product quality in production processes. 'AI for a LErende MAakindustrie (AMELIA)', driven by Windesheim University of Applied Sciences and the University of Twente, focuses on the use of AI in factories to optimize processes and make machines more autonomous.

Energy & Sustainability Sector

The "FlexLab AI Innovation Lab," led by Alliander N.V. and TNO, is developing, testing and evaluating advanced AI technologies that contribute to flexible power consumption and solving electricity network capacity problems.

AiNed thanks all submitters for their valuable contributions and looks forward to working together and the impact these projects will have for the Netherlands.
