Fellowship Grants

What are Fellowship Grants?

The AiNed Fellowship Grants are intended for Dutch academic research organizations looking to strategically invest in attracting AI talent for positions such as (tenure track) associate professor, associate professor or full professor. The selected AI experts contribute to both foundational and applied research and strengthen the national AI ecosystem.

What Fellowship Grants are there?

In March 2024, five grants were awarded to researchers focusing on a variety of AI-related issues:

Dr. Rianne Fijten, Maastricht University: Examines the integration of AI in healthcare, focusing on trust, communication and organizational challenges.
Dr. Madelon Hulsebos, Center for Mathematics & Computer Science: Develops the DataLibra project to make insights from structured data accessible via Table Representation Learning.
Dr. Filip Ilievski, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam: Aims to develop human-centered AI systems with common sense, including mental modeling and culturally informed reasoning.
Dr. Konrad Kollnig, Maastricht University: Focuses on bridging the gap between AI regulation and practical implementation through development of RegTech solutions.
Dr. Aaqib Saeed, Eindhoven University of Technology: Develops privacy-protecting AI for monitoring health via audio analysis of consumer devices.

There is currently no open call for Fellowship Grants.
