The National AI Challenge is the premier platform for organizations seeking to leverage artificial intelligence to address pressing societal issues.
Are you aware of, involved in, or part of an organization facing a tangible and pertinent problem with the potential for societal impact, and for which sufficient high-quality data is available to potentially tackle it with an AI solution? If so, read on, because registration for the National AI Challenge 2025 is now open!
Selection criteria
To participate, your organization must be affiliated with AIC4NL (or interested in becoming a member). The submitter can be a business, government or social organization. In addition, we review submissions for:
- Relevance: Is the problem urgent, clearly defined and appropriate within the missions of AIC4NL and KickstartAI?
- Support: Are stakeholders involved and is there internal commitment for implementation?
- Feasibility: Does the organization have the right data, infrastructure and resources?
- Impact & Scalability: Does the solution deliver measurable value and is it scalable for other contexts?
- Openness: Is the organization willing to share insights and results with the broader AI ecosystem?

🔍 Selection and jury phase: July 25 - Sept. 5, 2025
📢 Selection day: between Sept. 8- 19, 2025
🚀 Start project phase: mid-September 2025
