The applications of AI, data, and robotics in agriculture, food, and nature conservation are on the cusp of a new phase. Rather than experimentation, the focus is increasingly shifting toward market development and scaling up concrete solutions that address major societal challenges and generate new economic activity.

That is why the “First Movers: Business Opportunities with AI and Robotics for Agriculture, Food, and Nature” event will be held on June 22. This event is for companies in the Northern Netherlands that don’t want to sit back and wait, but want to actively contribute to the development of new solutions.

Why participate?

During this session, we will bring together companies, technology developers, and users from the Northern Netherlands to develop promising solutions, launch new collaborations, and jointly explore funding opportunities.

The proceeds will be used directly for:

  • The sequel to DigiAgro – aninnovation program in the Northern Netherlands for the development of AI and autonomous systems for agriculture
  • The development of use cases within the Dutch AI Factory, thenational development facility for large-scale AI models
  • The National AI Agenda for Agriculture, Food, and Nature, a recent initiative by AIC4NL and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality

Who is this for?

We focus on:

  • Companies with a commitment to developing digital solutions
  • Technology companies (AI, software, mechanical engineering)
  • Innovative farmers, horticulturists, consultants, contractors, land managers, and other early adopters

What are the benefits?

The session is practical and results-oriented. We will work toward:

  • Ideas for developing promising solutions using AI and robotics in agriculture, food, and nature
  • New partnerships between companies
  • Concrete next steps toward projects, pilots, and funding

Program (overview)

After a brief introduction, we’ll break into smaller groups to work on:

  • Challenges in the sector
  • Possible solutions
  • Required data and technology
  • We’ll wrap up by agreeing on specific next steps.
