AI is transforming education. And that presents opportunities. For example, in supporting students, grading exams, and developing AI solutions that are pedagogically sound. During this session, we will explore how AI is impacting education:
National Policy: Inge Molenaar (NOLAI) will open the session by presenting the national perspective. What does AI mean for educational quality, digital autonomy, and equal opportunity? And what is needed in terms of national policy and public leadership?
Institutions: Rix Groenboom and Armando Gerard (Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen) share practical experiences with AI-driven student support in higher education, including assistance with challenging courses and an ongoing pilot project in technical education.
Testing Practice: Kars ten Berge (Toetstester.nl) takes a closer look at what is perhaps the most sensitive area of application: test grading. What advantages does AI offer in terms of speed and consistency, and what are the limitations regarding reliability, validity, and human judgment?
The session will conclude with a panel discussion.
