AI impact in the technical industry – Fair tech for higher productivity

AI is finding its way into the technical industry at an ever-increasing pace. But what works in practice, and what doesn't? And how do we ensure that applications remain responsible, people-oriented, and economically viable? In this interactive session, four AIC4NL projects share their insights. You will hear how predictive maintenance and quality control with machine vision are used in practice, and what challenges companies encounter during implementation. We will also discuss how learning communities between companies and educational institutions contribute to faster knowledge building. 

From the Maritime Innovation Lab, we bring a maritime perspective: how AI is used for safety, emission reduction, and more efficient fuel consumption in offshore operations. This is a different context than factory environments, but with similar issues surrounding autonomy and human control. 

Based on these cases and insights from the ELSA Lab for Technical Industry, we explore together: when can AI make decisions, where does human judgment remain essential, and what does the rise of autonomous factory systems mean for your organization?
