What is MIT AI?

The SME Innovation Stimulation Top Sectors for Artificial Intelligence (MIT AI) supports SMEs in developing and applying AI innovations. Through collaborative research and development projects, companies can innovate products, production processes, and services with the help of AI.

The goal is to make AI accessible to SMEs. The output comprises concrete AI applications and solutions that companies can further develop to strengthen their market position.

What are the MIT AI initiatives?

In the Summer of 2024, fourteen innovative projects were selected that help drive social and sector-wide change:

  • Quality prediction and simulation optimization for glass production 
  • SAIFE
  • AUTHENTICATOR
  • Remote preVision of Side-Effects from immune effector cell (IEC) therapy
  • SpaceSilicon-AI
  • WindWatchAI
  • GeoAI Platform for Accessible and Automated Geospatial Intelligence Operations 
  • Generative AI for perioperative patient monitoring
  • 2nd Life Battery: efficient reuse of EV batteries
  • Personalized learning paths
  • JuVc 4
  • Predictive safety management 
  • Developing Regulatory AI Sandbox for Healthcare
  • DistriLogiX

The innovation scheme will be repeated annually through 2026. The 2025 funding round is open until May 27, 2025, more information can be found on the RFO website.
